Video not Television is all about Contents – Alhaji Lai Mohammed


It's a such an awesome experience for Shoplife Africa "Wassap News" to be in the second edition of the Creative Nigeria Summit that was held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos. The two days summit was impactful and life changing.

In his key note speech, the honourable minister of Information and Culture made a remarkable point, in his word "People according to research want to watch videos no matter how they are delivered. He said Video, not television is about contents. Video has exploded all over the World via VOD, Streaming, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Vine and so on. He said matching contents with customers should be the goal and priority of the Nigeria's film and television industry.


According to research, video consumption in the next three years is expected to explode to a hooping 45% on mobile, 45% on internet enabled TV, 40% on tablet and 36% on Personal Computer leaving the traditional linear TV with a little of the pie.

He urges the creative industry to embrace technologies to improvise and shape the destiny of the sector positively.
